Christianity

Christianity has the largest number of followers in the world. The general Christian view is that in the beginning God created Adam and Eve as perfect examples of perfect humans. Adam and Eve where convinced by a talking snake to eat forbidden fruit, and within doing so they created sin for all mankind. Then God had a son who was conceived by the Virgin Mary named Jesus. Jesus came to earth to sacrifice himself and die for our sins, so we can all enter heaven. There are many sub-categories of Christianity, the most common being Lutheranism, and Baptists. The differences exist in small practices within the religions; all subcategories of Christianity are based off of the traditional foundation of Christianity.

General attitude towards homosexuality, and same sex marriage:
Christianity uses the bible as a the overall guide to their religious practices. According to Christians the bible clearly states that homosexuality, and in turn same sex marriage goes against gods wishes and considered a sin. Yet Christian denominations are typically more relaxed when it comes to homosexuality. They often see homosexuality its self not as sinful, but rather practicing homosexual acts as sinful. This could be due to the difference in current print bibles. Some bibles clearly state that homosexuality is wrong, some actually never clearly mention anything about homosexuality.
